PERFECT START FOR TIM TOPPERTON

England made a very strong effort against Italy this evening, and won 1-0 at Stadio Martini.
A perfect start to the European Championship qualification, that was probably the most difficult match in this group.
Italy came on with a hard pressure and got a goal after just 3 minutes play. But it was disallowed for offside.
England did not get the ball much. They were focus on their defence against continuously attacks from the Italians. But just before half time they sent a freekick just past the post.
Then the goal came with England’s first attack in the second half. McHail came up on a corner and volleyed home 1-0. Assisted by H.Lindsay.
Italy was down to ten when B.Narkoni was sent of for an elbow. And the pressure against England was eased a bit. Enough to defend the lead until the final whistle.
What a victory!
