BLACKWELL CITY WINS LEAGUE CUP

Thimbleton made club history when they reached the League Cup Final this year. And they fought bravely at Trembley.
The game started cautious and nervous. None of the teams was on fire, and the referee Luke Whistle was the man in focus, giving both teams a cheap penalty each.
Both teams scored and the result was 1-1 at half time.

The second half was no better. A lot of errors made the spectators laugh in frustration at one time.
But in the last minutes Blackwell finally set pace, and hammered the ball in the bar. Thimbleton was pushed backwards, but they defended well and the game went to extra time.

Blackwell was clearly the better team in the extra time periods. And after 112 minutes of play Quinn McRowley fired away a long shot that made it 2-1.
That was enough to bring home the trophy to Blackwell.
Not a good game, but we guess the champions didn’t care celebrating in style with champagne and confetti in the center circle.
